“You love me?” Ryley asked, and I immediately started cursing myself for using the ‘love’ word. If she wanted me to go slow, this was the opposite.
“Ryley, you don’t have to say anything. I’m willing to go at whatever speed you need and feel comfortable with. But I want you to know that I want this. I want you and Channing to be a part of my family “I watched as she chewed on her bottom l*p.
“And you also defended my mate. You understand I have a past and you aren’t trying to erase it. I understand your hesitation. All the what- ifs that have filled your mind. “This isn’t a happy story. After the attack, the river took me close to a city. I was sleeping on the streets for a few nights before I was assaulted.
